Store More WIP Without Expanding the WIP Footprint

Traditional WIP storage grows horizontally. A vertical warehouse changes the equation by utilizing the building's available height.

Instead of continuing to add floor space for additional WIP lanes, the warehouse creates a high-density storage environment within a controlled footprint.

This can help plants:

  • Reduce the amount of floor space dedicated to WIP

  • Reduce forklift travel

  • Reduce congestion around production equipment

  • Create additional WIP capacity

  • Better utilize existing building volume

  • Create a scalable path for future production growth

On-Demand Storage and Retrieval

The vertical warehouse is designed around dynamic storage and retrieval

When a newly produced unit enters the system, the warehouse assigns an available storage location. When a converting machine requires a specific unit, the system retrieves that unit from its assigned location.

This creates a controlled flow of material:

Corrugator → Conveyor → Vertical Warehouse → On-Demand Retrieval → Converting Machine

The result is a WIP system where material doesn't simply accumulate — it is stored, tracked and retrieved according to production requirements.
